Not all emergencies need a trip to A&E!
Ms Lydia Mutsch is introducing the new information and awareness campaign for on-duty medical centres: 'Not all emergencies need a trip to A&E!'
Despite on-duty medical centres proving to be a resounding success, there still needs to be greater awareness of them among the general pubic.
In fact, a large number of the resident population automatically contact A&E, even if they do not have a medical emergency per se.
Leaflets, posters, radio ads, video clip, etc.
Multilingual leaflets (French, German, English and Portuguese), posters, radio ads and a video clip advise the pubic of the addresses of the 3 on-duty medical centres in the country, their opening hours and how the out-of-hours service works.
Three medical centres are open to patients outside doctors' normal working hours
- On-duty medical centres operate just like a doctor's surgery.
- They ensure continuity of care.
- Their purpose is to provide an out-of-hours service when general practitioners are not available.
- They provide personalised and confidential care.
