Vaccination stakeholders in Luxembourg
- The Higher Council for Infectious Diseases (CSMI): as part of its remit, this advisory body issues opinions and recommendations on vaccination prevention
- The Ministry of Health and Social Security (M3S): based on the opinions of the CSMI, the M3S has decision-making power with regard to the vaccination programme and the management of vaccines
- The Health Directorate (DISA): based on the decisions of the M3S, the Health Directorate develops the national vaccination programme and proposes a vaccination schedule.
- The Centre for Preventive Medicine and Population Health (MPSP) of the DISA is responsible for vaccination strategy and provides information to professionals and the pubic on the subject of vaccination.
- The Health Risks Department (RISA) of the DISA is responsible for vaccine procurement, stock management and distribution of vaccines under the national programme
- The Epidemiology and Statistics Department of the DISA is responsible for analysing the vaccination programme and evaluating vaccination coverage in Luxembourg
- The DISA's Health Inspection Department is responsible for managing epidemics and epidemiological monitoring.
- The DISA's Pharmacy and Medicines Division is responsible for pharmacovigilance (monitoring adverse effects).
- The DISA's support services deal with issues such as budgeting and communication.
- Wholesalers, with whom DISA has contracts, are responsible for storing and distributing vaccines to vaccinators
- Vaccinators carry out the vaccination procedures
