Organ Donation – Giving Life

In Luxembourg, as elsewhere, the number of available organs is insufficient to meet the needs of patients waiting for an organ transplant. Each year, a growing number of people die because they could not be transplanted in time. Even though the latest Eurobarometer study shows that a large part of the Luxembourg population declares itself in favor of organ donation, only a minority carry an organ donor card, despite our legislation being based on presumed consent.

Life Passport: Adopt It

To encourage everyone to think about organ donation, make their decision conscientiously, and adopt the LIFE PASSPORT, the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with Luxembourg-Transplant, is launching a new information and awareness campaign on the subject.

• A new donor card (“Life Passport”)

• Newspaper advertisements

• Radio, TV, and cinema spots

• Information on the Internet
